The Regency King Ampat

The regency King Ampat was one of the regencies in the province of Papua Barat, Indonesia. The capital of this regency was located in Waisai. This regency stood on April 12 2003 had the area of the territory 46.296 km2 and had a population of as many as 27,071 souls (2000).This regency had 610 islands. Four among them, namely the Misool Island, Salawati, Batanta, and Waigeo, was the big islands. From all over the island, only 35 islands that have inhabitants. The other island not have inhabitants and most did not yet have the name. As the area of the island, the only inter-island transport and penunjang the community's activity of King Ampat was the sea transport.

After that, from Sorong the trip was to Waisai followeded by the transport of sea. Was based on the potential masing- masing the district, Regional Government planned the development of the territory for four sectors, that is tourism, the plantation, the mining, and fisheries. Tourism, especially the maritime tour, will be developed in the Kofiau Island, Misool, Waigeo Selatan and West, as well as the Ayau Island.
The plantation with the main commodity the coconut in and the oil palm will be centred on in Pam's Island, Kofiau, and Salawati. The mining activity was centred on in the Salawati Island, Waigeo, Gag, Batanta, and Misool.

In Salawati was gotten by the potential for coal and migas. whereas Waigeo and Gag had nickel. In the meantime, Batanta and Misool respectively kept the potential for gold and the production raw material of cement, whereas the fisheries activity was aimed at the Ayau Island, Waigeo, Batanta, Salawati, and Kofiau.
